Microsoft, Nokia talk about MS Office on Nokia Phones
Microsoft has decided to take the war of competition head-on. A couple of weeks ago, it announced a search engine deal with Yahoo, and now, the latest addition to its committee of friends is Nokia. The company has entered a deal to build Microsoft Office Software into more than 60% of the next generation of Nokia Cellphones.
The move is mutually beneficial for both companies in the face of ever-increasing competition. Google word processing and spreadsheet are already giving Microsoft a dilemma. The success of Google's Smartphone (Android) has added more steam to the already challenging mobile phone market where Nokia is the THE KING. Can this "unholy" partnership give Nokia an extra advantage over other mobile phone manufacturers? Would Nokia abandon Symbian and opt for Microsoft operating system? Only time can tell.
