Microsoft Tops Server Sales
When the International Data Center dropped the gauntlet for Q1 2010 worldwide server market outlook, it comes as no surprise that Windows Server still commands the leading market share. Windows server is installed on 75.3% of total servers sold worldwide. Linux came second with 20.8% and UNIX stood third with 3.6%. All three grew in share from Q4 2009 to Q1 2010.
As part of efforts to further consolidate on its position, Windows Server SP1 is to include many new features. The two new virtualization features are the graphic acceleration platform known as RemoteFX, and the second feature is another addition to Hyper-V which will adjustable memory of a guest virtual machine when needed.
