Google Search Going Fully Social

For the first time in Google Search, social media is going to affect Google Search in a real and meaningful way. In the past, Google has shown some social media results low on the search page. These results were not that prominent and often times were subitems under another main search result.

Now, however, Google has made some changes to give social media more coverage. Google also said they are going to better blend results into their search results. Along with this change, Google also launched the ability for users to have more control of search. Google has also said in some select cases they are using social media to influence the rankings.

This change in the Google algorithm could mark a change in how top search results are being shown. As time goes on, one can only assume that social media will have more of an affect on search results and rankings.
