Samsung Galaxy S II Review

The Samsung Galaxy S II is one of the hottest new smartphones on the market. The first thing you notice about Samsung Galaxy S II is the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen. It is lighter, faster, and thinner than the Galaxy S. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy S II is the most sophisticated Android phone yet.

Design - Samsung Galaxy S II

At the thinnest point, the Galaxy S2 is only 8.7mm. The weight is just 116g and despite the 4.2 inch display screen, the phone is very pocket-friendly.

Holding the mobile device, you will notice the 4.2 inch Super AMOLED plus display protected by a sheet of glass. The front-facing camera is obvious at the upper left hand side. The handset has two keys at the bottom. Prominently on the sides of the phone are the volume rocker and a lock key/power key.

Performance - Samsung Galaxy S II

The minute you start using the galaxy S II, you will surely get addicted to the Smartphone. The dual-core processor is based on the ARM Cortex A9 design with a speed around 1GHz to 1.2GHz. The sound quality from the loud speaker without the earpiece is very impressive.

Battery Life - Samsung Galaxy S II

Battery life is very impressive despite the truckload of technology that comes with this mobile device. A single charge can last up to 48 hours. This is very impressive but it lags behind the new iPhone 4s.

Camera - Samsung Galaxy S II

The rear-facing camera is an 8 megapixel camera and the front facing camera is 2 megapixels. With an 8 megapixel camera, you won't need to carry around a separate camera anymore. You can do many customizations with the camera. For example, you can adjust the resolution, scene, and shooting modes, ISO, contrast, white balance, and add some after-effects. Shooting video with the Samsung Galaxy S II is better than using a Sony Handycam. I can't help but fall in love with the photo and video editing app.

OS - Samsung Galaxy S II

The Samsung Galaxy S II runs on Android 2.3. However, Samsung gave the Operating System UI a tweak to make for a better user experience. In our opinion, they got it right as this Smartphone will surely blow many handsets out of the water of competition.

The Samsung Galaxy S II is one of the slimmest machines on the market. The Smartphone is about 8.49mm (0.33 inches) thick. The handset is made of quality materials to withstand scratches and it feels great holding the mobile device in your hand. Although the Samsung Galaxy S II is mostly plastic, this handset has quality bursting up and down the body. The one downside to the all-plastic case is that the handset gathers dusts.
