Microsoft Security Essentials: Antitrust or not?

Microsoft has been avoiding the temptation to bundle Microsoft Security Essentials with Windows. The reason for this is to avoid lawsuits from big security vendors such as McAfee and Symantec. For now, Microsoft Security Essentials is available only as optional update if a computer running on the genuine version of Windows is detected without any security software. In addition, users with security software that does not tell Windows its status will also see this as an optional download.

As other antivirus vendors put their antitrust lawyers on speed dial waiting for when Microsoft will bundle Microsoft Security Essential with Windows, all eyes are on Microsoft to see if they make any moves with the way Security Essentials is delivered.
